A day before being tabled in Goa legislative assembly, the Manohar Parrikar-led Public Accounts Committee report on illegal mining in the state has run into controversy after Congress party legislators on the committee refused to sign it on Tuesday.
Goa's Congress legislator Agnelo Fernandes and 200 others were arrested on Monday after they marched in protest towards the Republic Day celebration in the city. The legislator was protesting under banner of River Princess Hatao Manch demanding removal of a huge cargo ship which has run aground on north Goa's Candolim shore.
